Our New Service for Spring Brings Us Together Again

13th May 2021

As lockdown begins to ease we are thrilled to be able to invite our clients back for face-to-face activities where it is safe to do so. To support them with returning, we have launched our brand new Live Well Together Service this week.

First Get Together

A small group of clients came along to our very first Live Well Together get together. We will be holding these events twice a month. They were able to enjoy refreshments, and a range of outdoor games including chess, Jenga, skittles and lots more.

The get togethers are also a chance to hear advice about a range of topics like staying safe in the summer weather and being active. As part of the project, clients will be provided with wellbeing packs featuring at-home activities. They will also contain practical items like water bottles, hats, and portable fans.

Emerging from Lockdown

Over the course of the next five months, the project will help and encourage older people in the community to get out and about as we emerge from lockdown. It will support them to be active and engaged in a safe and supported way. We know that many of our clients are eager to ‘get back to normal’ but there is a lot of anxiety associated with the risks and change of routine over the last year.

Live Well Together will support people both within their own home and out in the community when it’s safe to do so. All of our activities are designed with our clients’ safety in mind and will support them to return as soon as they are ready.

Future Sessions

The next get togethers are taking place at the following times outside of St Matthews Community Centre and are free of charge:

  • Thursday 20th May 1:30-3:30pm
  • Tuesday 8th June 1:30-3:30pm
  • Thursday 17th June 1:30-3:30pm
